BRADFORD City’s new home shirt for next season has certainly divided opinion among fans.
A poll on the Telegraph & Argus website about the chequered design was unable to split those who loved it – and those who didn’t.
Joint-chairman Mark Lawn admitted he was wary on first impression but the new look has since grown on him.
Lawn said: “I think you’ve got to change now and again to freshen things up.
“I’m a traditionalist myself and I prefer the stripes but sometimes you’ve got to go with something different.
“You have to give customers a choice. Do you wear the same stripes year after year or should you go with something that’s totally different from what we’ve had before.
“I think people will grow to like the shirt. When I first saw it, I didn’t particularly like it but the more I see it, the better it looks.”
The all-black away kit – a return to the colours City last wore a decade ago during the Colin Todd reign – has received a much more positive reaction.
