FARSLEY boss Neil Parsley was left with more questions than answers as his side slipped to a 3-1 defeat ahead of Thursday's Evo-Stik League Cup final.
Parsley's men had a tough last league fixture in Division One North as they headed to promotion hopefuls Bamber Bridge but they were in the game in the first half.
The Preston outfit broke the deadlock in the tenth minute when the unmarked Glen Steele headed home. They doubled their lead from the penalty spot, Daniel Mahoney netting after Alistair Waddacar had been fouled in the area.
Farsley halved the deficit before the break through Aiden Savory but the home side's Chris Marlow restored their two-goal cushion in the second half. The win sees Bamber snatch home advantage in the play-offs because Northwich Victoria were held to a draw by BRIGHOUSE TOWN.
The Vics took the lead at Brighouse when Josh Amis opened the scoring in the 20th minute but Ernest Boafo grabbed Town's equaliser before the interval. The home side took the lead through Ryan Hall in the second half but the Vics claimed a point from a 2-2 draw thanks to Gary Burnett's equaliser.
Bamber will now host Northwich in the play off semi-finals.
