Oxford City 4, Guiseley 2
FOLLOWING defeat at Oxford City on the final day of the regular season, Guiseley will face AFC Fylde in the Vanarama Conference North play-offs this week.
The fifth-placed Lions host second-placed Fylde, who just missed out on the title to Barrow, on Wednesday with the return leg taking place on Saturday. Chorley face Boston United in the other play-off.
Lions boss Mark Bower feels his players are ready for any opposition, despite their loss at Oxford with a depleted side.
He said: "We play Fylde in our next game and we are ready to give everything we've got in these last two weeks."
The Lions took four points off Fylde in the league games but the Guiseley manager feels that will be no indication of how the play-off meetings will pan out.
Bower said: "At this time of year your whole season rests on the next two weeks so what's gone on before doesn't come into it. Yes, we had good results against them in the season but that counts for nothing.
"But I am confident that, despite the injuries and unavailable players we've had over the last few games, we have got enough to get through to the final."
Goals from Lee Henderson and Adi Yussuf gave Oxford a 2-0 half-time lead on Saturday but Guiseley got it back to 2-2 with strikes from Liam Dickinson and Adam Boyes after the break.
The home side went on to win it by a margin as Tom Winters restored their lead before Yussuf bagged his brace.
