FARSLEY will be hoping to lift silverware before bringing the curtain down on a disappointing Evo-Stik Division One North season.
They face Warrington Town in the League Cup final at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park on Thursday.
Farsley boss Neil Parsley said: “We all know what a difficult and frustrating last few weeks it has been but our season will go on.
“I had hoped the results would have been better in the last couple of games but the performances have been there so we have to be satisfied. “It’s always a double-edged sword when you reach a final and have little or nothing resting on your remaining league games.
“The players want to stay in the side and play well but at the same time no one wants to get hurt or pick up an injury that will rule them out.”
The Villagers booked their place with a 2-1 away win at Ramsbottom United early this month but they suffered a confidence-shattering 4-0 defeat at relegation-threatened Prescot Cables just three days later.
They followed that with a goalless draw at mid-table rivals Clitheroe and were then beaten 3-2 at home by Kendal Town. That was an entertaining clash which could have gone either way.
Irrespective of what happens at play-off contenders Bamber Bridge today, Parsley has most likely got a good idea of his team for the final.
He said: “It should be an even contest although having said that we played well against Ramsbottom and Curzon Ashton, both of the Premier Division, to get through.
“The players have done it and represented the club well to get us here so I want them to go out and enjoy it and entertain the supporters. The fans have been very supportive and positive all season and they deserve it just as much as the players.
“Let’s just hope we can come out on top and bring the cup home with us.”
