BRADFORD Park Avenue head to Stalybridge Celtic tonight for the penultimate game of their season.
Avenue guaranteed their Vanarama North status some weeks back following an excellent run but have been stalled by back-to-back 1-0 home defeats.
After losing to title-chasing AFC Fylde in midweek, Worcester City then avenged Avenue’s 1-0 win at Aggborough earlier this year.
Bradford boss John Deacey is happy that his side have to play their last two games away from home.
He said after Saturday’s defeat, on a difficult surface, that two games on better pitches would suit his players and the style he likes them to adopt.
They will be tested at Stalybridge however. The Celts won 2-1 at eighth-placed Hednesford Town at the weekend.
The victory lifted them out of the relegation zone and extended their unbeaten run to six games. They also have a game in hand on the two clubs below them.
Guiseley are also in action when they host North Ferriby United at Nethermoor.
Mark Bower’s Lions booked their place in the play-offs with a 2-1 win over promotion rivals Chorley at the weekend.
A win tonight would take them above Boston United and into third before they finish their regular season with a trip to Oxford City on Saturday.
Guiseley are likely to face either Boston or Chorley in the end-of-season extras.
Eleventh-placed Ferriby have not won since beating Wrexham in the FA Trophy final at Wembley but they stopped the rot with a 2-2 against Leamington at the weekend, a result which saw Leamington relegated.
Ferriby end their season at home to Avenue on Saturday.
In the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division, Albion Sports head to leaders Shaw Lane Aquaforce.
The hosts are three points clear with four games to play.
Silsden travel to relegation-threatened St Helens Town in the North West Premier Division.
