PALESTINO are through to their second Spen Valley League cup final.
Having already reached the Memorial Trophy decider, the Bradford-based club won their Challenge Trophy semi-final against fellow Division One club Norfolk 2-1 courtesy of a Ben McCardle brace.
Palestino will meet the winners of tonight's second last-four tie between Premier Division duo Route One Rovers and Savile Youth, also at Overthorpe Sports Club (6.15), in the Challenge Trophy, with the final at the same venue on Saturday, May 2 (2pm).
Hopes of an all-Bradford Memorial Trophy final were thwarted when Hightown Jets swamped Idle 5-0 in the second semi.
That decider will be at Overthorpe SC this Saturday (2pm) – but there was a dress rehearsal in Division One at the weekend when second-placed Palestino defeated the table-topping Jets 3-2.
Goals by Jamie Chadwick, Abdur Rahim and Ryan Sanson lifted Palestino to within two points of their title rivals with four games in hand.
Athletico continued their pursuit of third place with a 2-1 win at Savile Town, with efforts by Mohammed Ikraaz and Daniel Benjamin.
