FARSLEY boss Neil Parsley feels the upcoming Evo-Stik League Cup final is a "reward for the players and supporters" after the club's recent disappointments.
The Villagers will take on fellow Division One North outfit Warrington Town at Edgeley Park, the home of Stockport County, a week on Thursday, having booked their place by defeating Premier Division hosts Ramsbottom United 2-1.
Parsley said: "It's a big ground as Stockport have only dropped out of the Football League a few years ago, so I think it's a good choice of venue. It will be a fitting reward for the players and supporters.
"The fans have been very supportive all season and those who made the trip over to Ramsbottom for the semi-final were fantastic.
"It has been a difficult few weeks but we on the management side – and certainly the players – appreciate the support we get both at home and away. It transfers to the pitch and is a great lift for the team and I'm sure our supporters are looking forward to the final.
"There have been a few negative comments, and that's understandable, but it is fantastic that so many get behind us. They pay their money to watch the side and we try to give them good, attractive football/
"But as hard as we try, it doesn't happen every game and when they see a poor performance, they have every right to speak their mind."
Farsley were in the hunt for promotion for most of the campaign but the points dried up just as the club began their run-in. However, the season was kept alive by the Doodson Sport Cup run.
The surge to the final began in mid-November with a 2-0 win at promotion rivals Scarborough Athletic but the second round proved harder to negotiate.
Premier Division high-fliers Curzon Ashton came to Throstle Nest and, after a 2-2 draw, the tie went straight to penalties, with Farsley winning the shoot-out 5-4.
Third-round ties were played in January and Farsley had home advantage again, beating Division One South counterparts Sheffield 4-2.
That took the Villagers into the last eight and they were paired with long-term rivals and bogey side Lancaster City, but blew them away and booked their semi-final berth with a comfortable 3-0 victory.
