SILSDEN finished with nine men and an injured player as a deputy keeper as they slumped to a 6-1 defeat at 1874 Northwich in the North West Counties top tier.
Debutant full back Connor Erangey picked up two yellow cards within minutes late in the first half and Dale Feather was dismissed for dissent in the second half. When keeper Danny Thorpe was carried off later, the limping Joe Jalil donned the gloves.
It was 4-0 to the home side by then and Jalil had no chance as Ryan Mitchell scored a late penalty and Matt Woolley added the sixth.
Matty Beadle, twice, Danny Thomas and Neil Chappel were the others on target while Chris Wademen netted the Cobbydalers’ late consolation.
