THACKLEY began rebuilding their confidence when they drew at high-flying Cleethorpes last Saturday but it could be dashed again tomorrow when they host leaders Worksop.
The Nottinghamshire outfit are five points clear but closest rivals Shaw Lane Aquaforce pose a big threat to Worksop's title aspirations as they have three games in hand and continued their pursuit of the Premier Division table-toppers with a 4-0 win at Athersley Recreation in midweek.
Thackley's good form had deserted them before their trip to Cleethorpes. After a run that banished any fears of them getting dragged into a Toolstation Northern Counties East League relegation fight, the Dennyboys lost three games in four and only beat lowly LIVERSEDGE in that sequence.
Sedge remain third-bottom following a 5-2 midweek defeat in their other local derby at Albion Sports and are in need of points to be sure of staying above the relegation trapdoor.
They travel to Maltby Main, who are just three places higher but are six points better off with two games in hand.
ALBION SPORTS will be without leading scorer Danny Facey, James Firth and skipper Asif Hussain, who are all unavailable, as they head to Handsworth Parramore for a mid-table battle.
Division One action sees ECCLESHILL UNITED travel to play Bottesford Town. The Eagles are three places below their hosts but are in good form after winning three of their last four games.
Bottesford won the reverse fixture 3-1, with skipper Charlie Flaherty on target for the Bradford side.
SILSDEN should be going into a back-to-back reverse fixture as they head to West Didsbury & Chorlton in the North West Counties League tomorrow but last week's clash at the Cobbydalers' home was washed out.
A waterlogged pitch at the Angel Telecom Stadium led to a 10am postponement and the inactivity cost Silsden their place in the Premier Division top ten.
A win this weekend could see them leap as high as eighth, with new joint-managers Danny Bolton and Ryan Haigh setting their sights on a finish inside the top six.
