REVITALISED Bradford Park Avenue will take on Gainsborough Trinity tonight without Danny Frost following his departure from the club.
Avenue continue the drive to retain their Vanarama Conference North status at home to opponents who are also not yet certain of safety, so a full-blooded encounter is in prospect.
But Frost will not be involved as he left the club yesterday after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
The forward had recently been on loan at Matlock Town for a month but was named among the Avenue substitutes for Saturday's 0-0 draw at leaders Barrow.
A change in the player's work circumstances means he is unable to commit to the training and travel at such a high level, although he hopes to continue playing in a lower leagues.
Frost became a crowd favourite with his energetic displays and knack of netting spectacular goals.
He played in 20 of Avenue's league games this term, scoring three times, and helped the club reach the West Riding County Cup final by netting four times in two ties. He will now miss the final at Valley Parade.
Avenue go into tonight's match six points clear of Gainsborough with a match in hand after stretching their unbeaten run to five games with Saturday's stalemate against table-toppers Barrow.
John Deacey's men have banked 11 points from those fixtures and would climb level on points with Harrogate Town with a win and still have a game in hand on Simon Weaver's side.
Tonight's opponents also enjoyed an encouraging result at the weekend, holding second-placed AFC Fylde to a goalless draw. However, they had lost three of their previous four games.
Elsewhere tonight, Albion Sports host neighbours Liversedge in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.
Mid-table Albion will be favourites in the Premier Division derby at Throstle Nest as struggling Sedge are currently third from bottom.
