Steve Schumacher has reminded City that nobody is too good to go down.
Spirits have been lifted by two much-improved displays since David Wetherall took the Bantams helm.
But Schumacher knows that only wins on the board will stave off the growing threat of relegation.
As City prepare for a showdown with rock-bottom Rotherham, the straight-talking midfielder warned: "I'd take a bad performance and three points on Saturday.
"It's been great since Wethers has come in. The training regime is a lot better and our fitness is going really well - but the most important thing is to get a win.
"We can't keep saying we played really well if we don't get the points. There are no excuses.
"You can stand here all day and say that we don't deserve to be where we are in the table but we're down there because of how we've played and there's no point looking back.
"Teams have gone down before that shouldn't have done because the results speak for themselves. We've just got to make sure that come the end of the season people aren't saying the same things about us."
Schumacher, whose sixth goal of the campaign rescued a crucial point against Brentford last week, said he felt no pressure taking the late penalty.
He added: "I've had a few pressure penalties in my career before and I remember taking one against Germany in the quarter-finals of the European under-20 championships.
"I don't think too many people fancied me scoring after we'd missed so many chances but I felt quite calm and relaxed and just pretended I was taking it in training.
"It's been a bit of a touchy subject since Deano left. Colin Todd told Bridgey (Marc Bridge-Wilkinson) that he'd be on penalties but we've been arguing about it for ages and I said I was just going to grab the ball next time it happened.
"But it's funny because Wethers asked about penalties a couple of days before the game and asked who wanted them. Bridgey, Eddie Johnson and I all put our hands up and he gave the job to me - probably so that I wouldn't kick off!
"Bridgey turned round afterwards and said we'll get a penalty on Saturday now', and we did. It was just an extra bit of pressure but I was always confident."
City have won only once in 12 games but Rotherham's run is even worse - their last victory was way back on December 2.
