FIELD strengthened their grip on top spot in the Premier Division with a 4-1 home victory over Hunslet Club in the West Yorkshire League.
Glynn Hirst and Danny Cunningham scored with fine 25-yard shots against opponents who put in plenty of hard work but lacked the finishing power of their hosts. Andy Hawker and Hirst's second completed the Field goal tally.
Wyke Wanderers put in a powerful second-half display to defeat Old Modernians 3-0 and keep the pressure on Division One leaders Pool.
It was goalless at the interval but second-placed Wanderers then stepped on the gas to score through Ben Bodle and a double by Ian Horrocks, who had also set up the opener.
Wyke secretary Dave Ryan said: "Gavin Turner and Joseph Walshe were both on top form at the heart of our defence and Cameron Day had a good match at right back in a result that cements our position in the promotion places."
Field Reserves bowed out of the League Trophy after a 1-0 defeat to Hunslet Club Reserves.
