SILSDEN’S new management team are determined to take the North West Counties League Premier Division club forward.
Danny Bolton has returned to the Angel Telecom Stadium as joint boss with Ryan Haigh while Chris Price will be the assistant manager.
It will be Bolton’s second spell at Silsden after a stint as number two to previous manager Chris Reape.
Bolton said: “The three of us will be working together and it was Ryan and Chris who asked me to come back in.
“I’ve been doing other things since I was here with Chris Reape but I’ve been around the place, so it’s been easy for me to just get back to working with the squad.
“There have been questions asked about my role by people who didn’t know what the situation was so I think it was important to make things clear.
“We are looking at our plans for the club which we hope will take it forward. We have a good young squad but we’re really keen to attract more of the young talent that is emerging in the area.
“Andy Geary came back and he steadied the club. He built it back up after a difficult little period but he wanted to step down because he felt he couldn’t give the job the time it needs.”
Bolton and the two co-workers inherited the side in mid-table respectability but they are striving for more. The ambitious trio have set themselves and the club targets to measure their progress.
Bolton said: “We were pleased with the win against AFC Liverpool last Saturday because we moved up to tenth with the three points. It was also a second clean sheet on the bounce so the performance was there as well.
“We are aiming for the top six or eight and that will be a good basis to build on over the summer so that we can hit the ground running next season. Really at this time of year it’s all about planning the pre-season as we look to develop.”
