SAM Byram is urging his in-form Leeds United side to continue their recent renaissance at rock-bottom Blackpool on Saturday.
Neil Redfearn’s men claimed their fifth win from six away games in Wednesday’s 3-0 drubbing of Fulham and Byram wants a repeat performance at Bloomfield Road.
The versatile defender, who has overtaken Aidy White as the club’s highest appearance maker in the current squad, opened the scoring at Craven Cottage before Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci finished Fulham off.
Byram said: "I’m always looking to get on the scoresheet and help the team out.
"We’re a lot more solid as a team now. The fans can see that we’re staying in games.
"I think we’re harder to play against and we’re also creating the chances and putting them away at the same time.
“It was an important three points for us. It keeps our run going and we’ll take it into Saturday’s game.”
Redfearn’s current deal expires at the end of the season but the former Academy boss appears certain to be rewarded with a new contract.
He said: “All the talks I’ve had and all the signs are that I’m going to be here next season.
“The club have asked me to plan pre-season, they want me to draw lists (of transfer targets) up, so all the signs are there.
“But from my point of view it needs doing sooner rather than later because I want to be here. I want to take it forward and I want to take it on. The lads are buying into what we’re doing and we just need a bit of forward planning.”
