WHITBURN Athletic, who only climbed off the bottom of the Spen Valley League late last month, showed their continued improvement by holding high-flying Route One Rovers to a 1-1 draw.
Callum Pollard was on target for third-bottom Premier Division battlers Athletic, with Mohammed Ikram replying for second-placed Rovers.
Route One being held was good news for leaders TVR United, who extended their advantage to eight points with a 5-3 defeat of Marsh thanks to goals from Ashiq Iqbal, Asif Iqbal, Mohammed Ismaeel, Faisal Shabir and Mohammed Aftab.
Because of their vastly superior goal difference, TVR probably only need one point from their last three matches to take the title.
Bradford Athletic climbed to third on the back of a 4-1 home win over second-bottom Smokin' Aces, with Mohammed Ahmed (2), Faisal Hussain and Sultan Khan on target.
Vision, who could yet finish second from their current fifth position, closed the gap on fourth-placed Girlington by defeating them 3-1 thanks to a Craig Kellett hat-trick, with Atif Shehzad replying.
Idle have joined Palestino, George Healey and Hightown Jets in the semi-finals of the Spen Valley Memorial Trophy following a 7-1 triumph at Athletico. Goals came from Matty Adder (3), Aron Irving, Carl Dawson, Callum Dowerty and Jack Strudwick.
