LEEDS United head coach Neil Redfearn is confident that belief among the club’s supporters is starting to return as the Whites prepare for their biggest crowd of the season on Saturday.
Nottingham Forest visit Elland Road and well over 30,000 fans are expected to witness Redfearn’s promising young side aim to build on a run of seven wins from their last ten games.
Redfearn said: “It’s a tremendous thing for the lads and it just shows you the feeling for the club and how big it is.
“And I think from the football club’s point of view and from our point of view, I think it shows that people are starting to believe what we are doing.
“I think they see the young players coming through and I think we have been brave as a group to put them in and I think people can see where we are going with them.
“This is maybe reflected by so many people set to come through the gate this weekend.”
Leeds have failed to challenge for promotion during a turbulent campaign which has seen managers come and go and owner Massimo Cellino fight legal battles with the Football League.
Looking ahead to next term, Redfearn added: “We want to be challenging next season and we have proved on our day this season that we can beat the sides that are up there.”
Sam Byram and Rodolph Austin will be assessed but Liam Cooper has been passed fit.
