GUISELEYstrengthened their top-five position with a deserved victory over rock-bottom Hyde in midweek and now they face another struggling side at Nethermoor on Saturday.

The Lions host Brackley Town who are currently 17th and just six points above the drop zone.

Lions boss Mark Bower had warned his players that playing against teams battling near the foot of the table is as tough as playing promotion rivals before the matches with Hyde, which ended in a 0-0 draw and a 2-0 win.

Bower has reiterated his concerns: “Two games against Hyde, who are playing much better than their place in the table suggests, is a banana skin," he said.

"Brackley are another team towards the bottom of the table. This one will be difficult and a completely different game than Wednesday’s.”

Wayne Brooksby hobbled off in midweek to add to Bower's selection worries. “Injuries have been a problem, and we’ll have Dicko (Liam Dickinson) suspended for tomorrow," said Bower.

"I hope Wayne will have settled down – it was just a kick – and OJ (Oli Johnson) may be able to give us 20 minutes or so.

"Andy Holdsworth is soldiering on because he hasn’t been fully fit for weeks now but he’s been doing a job.

“I’m sure we’ll be okay if we take our chances like we did on Wednesday. That was the difference between the two Hyde games – one we took our chances in and one we didn’t.”
