JORDAN Pickford has left Bradford City after being recalled by Sunderland.
Pickford, who made 34 appearances, turned 21 on Saturday - which meant the end of his youth loan.
Sunderland were reluctant to extend his stay for the rest of the season because a further loan would have meant no recall clause for the next month.
Boss Phil Parkinson said: "We are obviously disappointed to lose Jordan but we always knew that there was the possibility of him being recalled at some point.
"Jordan has been brilliant for us since coming to the club and he has been a pleasure to work with."
Pickford, who was on the bench against Reading on Saturday, was also sent off twice, although one of them at Port Vale was quickly rescinded.
His departure means that Ben Williams, who has played all the FA Cup ties, will be first choice as City look to bring in a replacement.
