PHIL Parkinson feels the FA Cup has lost a bit of its magic with the decision not to put City on TV in round five.
The Bantams boss is as bemused as everyone that his giant-killers have been snubbed by the broadcasters.
He said: “We aren’t getting carried away with ourselves because we beat Chelsea. But the way the FA Cup has been marketed this season by the BBC and BT has been all about the rekindling the magic.
“You go back to Warrington v Exeter and Hartlepool v Blyth – the English public and neutral fans, myself included, really enjoyed that.
“You get a lot of Premier League football but these are the type of games that get people talking.
“To go away from that at this stage of the competition, especially after what we’ve achieved, is very disappointing.
“I’m amazed by it. I’d have loved to have been in that meeting when the decision was made to hear why.
“I can’t work it out but unfortunately we’ve got to accept it. “We’ve got to keep our credibility in what we say.
“There’s not much we can do apart from batten down the hatches and aim to go into the next tie in good form.”
City are waiting for confirmation on when the tie against either Sunderland or Fulham will take place. It is looking more like Sunday, February 15 – with the midweek trip to Leyton Orient possibly pushed back 24 hours to the Wednesday.
