MARFLITT Trophy holders Grangefield Old Boys had to battle hard to reach the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Amateur League competition.
The Premier Division side edged their third-round tie 2-1 at Championship outfit Beeston St Anthony's.
Leeds & District FA Cup semi-finalists Beeston forced Phil Gill into two wonder saves in the first half but the old boys prospered when they shunned the long ball after the interval and opted for their usual passing game.
A great run by Chris Ross led to a goal by Andy Kenyon in the 55th minute and, two minutes later, the latter player's free-kick found its way in after a dummy by Ross added to the confusion in the Beeston defence.
St Anthony's got back into the game via a Graham Stockdale penalty in the 65th minute but two more top-drawer Gill saves denied them further goals and clinched a repeat semi-final against Ealandians on neutral territory.
Ealandians saw off visitors Stanningley Old Boys 3-1 in an all-Premier Division clash, racing into a 2-0 lead inside half an hour via Jacob Driver's double.
Striker James Allen reduced the arrears after getting the better of Matty Parker in what was a quality battle but missed a golden opportunity to level matters when Damian Parry saved Jay Carr's spot-kick.
Stanningley threw on their substitutes but this disrupted their flow and Driver completed his hat-trick to put Ealandians through.
Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves, who are fourth in Division Three, upset the league structure with a 3-1 win at Huddersfield Amateur Reserves, who are second in Division Two, in the Hancock Cup quarter-finals.
It was only Amateur's second home defeat of the season, despite them taking the lead in the first minute through Division Two's leading scorer Dean Parker.
But a turning point was Farsley keeper Matty Smith's terrific save in the 41st minute, Ben Wilson levelling two minutes later.
Wilson added his second goal in the 76th minute from Ben Gekonkge's cross but the hosts then penned Celtic in their penalty area, only for the tireless Louis Surtees to break away in the 89th minute after being found by Will Hicks.
However, no-one deserved the quality after-match refreshments more than Farsley centre half Alex Reid, who broke his nose in the first minute but bravely played on for the remaining 89 minutes.
