PHIL Parkinson is not anticipating a team from outside the Premier League winning the FA Cup this year.
The current top three all bit the dust on Saturday to open the door for an outsider to lift the trophy. But the City boss isn’t so sure the winner will come from the Football League.
Parkinson said: “It hasn’t happened for so long. When Wigan won, it was a huge shock and they were a Premier League team at the time.
“Clubs seem to be taking the competition more seriously because for managers to get to a major cup final and win some silverware is something you’ll never forget.
“We’re not talking about winning it ourselves but it would be great if someone outside the Premier League could do. It’s a tall order but you never know.”
