OVERNIGHT snow and frost wiped out all of the local District Cup ties and all but two of the West Riding County Amateur League matches.
The only game in the Premier Division to beat the weather was at Golcar United, where the leaders defeated bottom-placed Tyersal 9-3 to move nine points clear of second-placed Bay Athletic.
While Golcar controlled the game, Simon Thompson, Callum Meade and Jonathon Newiss scored two goals each to add to John McAliskey, Nathan Tayo and Dean Saddiq strikes. Tyersal showed that Golcar’s defence was vunerable to lapses as Wayne Wright, Luke Cook and Ben Bairstow netted.
The only other game to go ahead was in Division Two, where The Hunslet Club and Parkside played host to Honley on the 3G pitch at Middleton Sports Centre in Leeds.
Honley moved up into fourth after goals from James Clapham and Danny Knutton.
The Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup game between Wibsey and Salts has been rearranged for Saturday, February 21.
