THACKLEY will be looking to put a bad week behind them on Saturday when they play their first home game since November 22.
A 5-1 defeat at Handsworth Parramore last Saturday was followed by extensive damage at Dennyfield the following morning after a car crashed through the concrete boundary wall and careered across the terrace and through the pitch-side perimeter barriers.
Thackley spokesman Mick Lodge said: “I contacted the league straight away and sent them photos.
“There were some tyre marks on the pitch but those have been repaired. We have made temporary repairs to the outside wall and we will be putting some plastic netting – the type you see builders and road-workers using – across where the barrier should be.
“There is no risk to the safety of the players or the public, and the league are happy with the temporary repairs so we’re okay. ”
Thackley are 17th in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
If they do make in onto the pitch, their problems will have just begun as they face sixth-placed Barton Town Old Boys.
Liversedge also have a tough fixture at third-placed Cleethorpes Town. The hosts enjoyed a 3-0 win at mid-table Handsworth in midweek.
Eccleshill United are experiencing tough times in Division One and face a trip to Louth Town on Saturday.
The Eagles have lost three and suffered three postponements in their last six scheduled league games.
Silsden broke through the 40-point barrier in the North West Counties League Premier Division with a home win over St Helens Town last weekend, and they will be looking for more when Winsford United visit the Angel Telecom Stadium.
Winsford are five places and eight points below the ninth-placed Cobbydalers.
