HALL Green United Reserves were the fall guys as Baildon Trinity Athletic's first-teamers gained some much-needed match practice after three weeks off in the West Yorkshire League.
The senior team's game was postponed so a few of them appeared for the second string in Alliance Division Two, with visitors Hall Green losing 10-0.
Baildon had a healthy 5-0 half-time lead, courtesy of goals from Andrew Radosevic, Asa Dobson, Elliott Moody, Matthew Hand and Jonny Reynolds.
Ben Craven came on as a substitute and grabbed two goals, followed by another from Reynolds before Nick Wadsworth struck twice in the last ten minutes.
Baildon player-manager Mick Haran said: "Our high tempo and short-passing game was outstanding and Hall Green couldn't live with us."
Wyke Wanderers travelled to Swillington Saints in Division One and came away with a hard-fought 1-0 win. However, Wanderers were on top throughout, with goalkeeper Ben Sharp having little to do.
Ian Horrocks grabbed the all-important goal from the penalty spot in a victory that lifts Wyke to fourth, five points behind leaders Thornhill with a game in hand.
Ben Baker and substitute Joseph Vickers were on target for Field Reserves in their 2-2 Alliance Division One draw at Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves.
The Premier Division match between Field and Ripon City and the Alliance Division Two clash between Wyke Wanderers Reserves and Sherburn White Rose Reserves were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
