ONLY two games were played in the Spen Valley League First Division – but both had significance at the top of the table.
Leaders Idle travelled to third-placed Hightown Jets and were beaten 4-2, dropping to third.
Ryan Lacey, Nathan Clarke, Kyle Kershaw and Dale Motlib were on target for Jets, who climbed to second.
Second-placed Palestino were also away but won 5-2 against mid-table Fox & Hounds to take over at the top.
Dom Simpson netted both of the Batley side's consolations but they conceded goals to Victor Illuch (two, including a penalty), Zubair Khan, Ryan Sanson and Ben McCardle.
The Premier Division clash between the bottom two produced a cracker, with cellar dwellers Whitburn Athletic winning their first game of the season 5-4 at Smokin Aces.
Ashraf Navarska and Adam Momaniat bagged braces for Aces, as did Craig Thomas and Kirk Taylor for Athletic, whose Suliman Alaspi also netted.
Third-placed Route One Rovers kept the pressure on TVR United with a 4-0 victory at sixth-placed Marsh, goals coming from Sohail Fiaz (2), Mohammed Ali and Kamran Khan.
