SILSDEN'S Development team had a fine 3-1 victory at Ashton United Reserves in the Lancashire League to move up to third.
Chris Wademan put Silsden ahead after only two minutes, when he chipped the Ashton goalkeeper from outside the penalty area, and he increased their lead just after the half-hour after outpacing a home defender.
Ashton had two efforts cleared off the line just before the break but they did reduce the arrears after 68 minutes through a penalty given away by the Silsden goalkeeper.
With ten minutes to go, the visitors sealed the points when Josh McNulty's corner was converted by Oliver Peacock.
The game between Thackley Reserves and Albion Sports Reserves was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
