Eccleshill United’s end-of-season awards evening was dominated by the overseas students of the Richmond International Academic and Soccer and Academy (RIASA) that make up the bulk of their squad.
Forward Adam McCabe was named player of the season, while midfielder Tyson Newell picked up the vote of his peers as players’ player of the season.
Dougie Stevenson, who provided the craft and guile in the centre of the park, was awarded the clubman of the season.
The goal of the season was a split vote, with Aaron Sanchez and Ryan Jones sharing the accolade.
Sanchez’s strike in the 4-2 win over higher-ranking Farsley in the West Riding County Cup - a competition they went on to win - was voted joint equal with Ryan Jones’ goal in the 5-2 league victory at AFC Emley in the opening month of the campaign.
Marcus Edwards picked up the top scorer’s gong. He was not only the Eagles’ leading marksman but also finished top of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One list with an impressive haul of 44 goals.
