Steve Drench and Jake Lawlor were both double winners at Guiseley’s awards night at Otley Golf Club on Saturday.
The Lions celebrated reaching the play-offs in Skrill Conference North in former Bantams skipper Mark Bower’s first season as a manager after he took over from Steve Kittrick just six games into the campaign.
Goalkeeper Drench added the key award of players’ player of the season to the supporters’ accolade. Drench was named as the fans’ choice on the pitch at the end of the last home game of the campaign.
That was the 3-1 win against Gloucester City which was the last day of the regular season.
Then came the first leg of the play-off semi-final that saw the Lions end North Ferriby United’s season, even though the newcomers finished as runners-up.
Jake Lawlor was named managers’ player of the season and also picked up the club’s fair play award.
Centre back and Academy coach Danny Ellis, another former Bantam, was named as the sponsors’ player of the season.
