Brighouse Town’s home game against Maltby Main escaped the wet weather, with Town winning 2-0 to move above Thackley and into fourth place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Tom Matthews was brought down by Maltby keeper Jamie Bailey midway through the first half but Bailey redeemed himself by saving the resulting penalty.
However, Matthews opened the scoring just six minutes later and Ryan Hall netted four minutes after the break to give Town a two-goal cushion and set them on the way towards a straightforward win.
