Guiseley’s fixture congestion worsened last night when they suffered yet another postponement.
The Lions were due to host Gainsborough Trinity in the Conference North but despite the best efforts of their staff and volunteers the game was called off by the match referee after a mid-afternoon inspection.
It was a fourth postponement on the trot for Guiseley – who have played fewer games than any team in Skrill North – and the ninth since the original date for Gainsborough’s visit, on December 28, was washed out.
The Lions are looking to tonight’s West Riding County Cup tie to get players much-needed match action.
Eccleshill United are hoping it will be third time lucky as they make another attempt to stage the semi-final derby against Mark Bower’s men.
Albion Sports are also looking to get a fixture completed tonight as they travel to Long Eaton United in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Seventh-placed Albion would join local rivals Thackley on 58 points with a win over their hosts, who are 13th in the table.
