Bamber Bridge 0 Farsley 1
Farsley climbed to second place after a battling victory at promotion rivals Bamber Bridge.
Neil Parsley’s men went close very early when Aiden Savory’s curling shot flew just wide but the home side soon showed their quality, dominating possession and the goal-attempt count, ensuring Farsley keeper Tom Morgan was on his toes.
The first half remained goalless but Savory had a half chance soon after the break and the visitors had a penalty shout following what they saw as a handball in the area, but the referee was not interested.
Farsley skipper Rob O’Brien scored the only goal of the game following good work from Danny Hull.
Minutes later Hull created another opening but Adam Priestley sent his effort just wide.
Parsley said: “It was a great win for us because they are a good side but we created two very good chances and took one of them.
“We rode our luck in the first half and we were under quite a bit of pressure in the last five minutes. We set our stall out and the game-plan worked to a tee.”
The result extended Farsley’s unbeaten run to 16 games, 13 of which have been victories.
