Sandy Lane were given a lesson in Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division finishing by Bolton Woods, who warmed up in convincing style for next weekend's West Riding County FA Sunday Cup tie at previous winners Thornhill Lees.
Woods, despite going a goal down to the leaders via Matthew Ferry, bossed a physical encounter from the kick-off.
After 20 minutes, Tristan Innes equalised, and from there on Woods kept the pressure up, with Ryan Wood scoring a brace for the visitors and Chris Cookson wrapping things up with a 30-yard thunderbolt of a free-kick late on to seal a well-deserved victory.
Despite being beaten, Sandy remain top of the table, with Woods staying in fourth place, waiting to see if any of the top trio slip up.
West Bowling ominously moved into second with a convincing victory over Stanningley Albion in a match where both teams made light of the heavy conditions by trying to play football.
The champions went in front through Jack Murphy but the visitors quickly replied through Tom Jarman.
Paul Helliwell edged the champions in front again but only an inspired display from new goalkeeper Ian Carradice, who topped off his display by saving a penalty in the dying minutes, kept visitors Albion at bay.
At the start of the second half, Joe Jagger made it 3-1 before Chris Wood and Jagger, with his second from the penalty spot, gave the scoreline a lopsided look.
Meanwhile, George Hotel had a convincing 7-3 victory at Relay to move away from the lower reaches of the table.
In Division One, White Eagles ended Thornbury's long winning streak, taking a seven-goal thriller at Myra Shay.
The only goal of the first half was scored by Tobiah Pascal after great work from Josh Ludford.
Celtic equalised early in the second half but goals from Jamie Barstow, a Louis Etienne penalty and captain Craig Smith made the points safe for Eagles, despite a late rally from Celtic.
Man of the match was Eagles' keeper Andy Smith, with some great saves at crucial times.
In a controversial top-of-the-table Division 1A clash at Canal Road, Bolton Woods Socials beat third-placed Wyke Rangers 2-1.
James Sugden got both the home team's goals but the first one was clouded in controversy when the visitors' keeper parried a back-pass and then picked the ball up in the penalty area to concede an indirect free-kick that Sugden hit home - but there was no doubt about his second from a 25-yard free-kick.
Once again there was a drastically reduced programme of Sunday league action in the Bradford area, the incessant rain leaving a lot of grounds waterlogged.
Although there was not a complete cancellation as per the previous weekend, Bradford Council left the decision to the match referees, and 15 fixtures will have to be re-arranged for later in the season.
In Division 1B, only two matches were played.
Swaine Green finally returned to action after the Christmas break with a top-notch team performance, putting in 12 goals without reply at Wrose Albion.
Andy Lee put in a superb performance up front, scoring six goals. Other goals came from Carl Priestley's shot from just inside the hosts' half, Nathan Priestley's penalty after Lee was brought down, striker Jordan Horsfall (2), Elliott Holmes and Kane Alexander.
Kevin Sanasy picked up the man of the match award after assisting in the majority of the visitors' goals.
Eccleshill WMC recorded their biggest win as they beat Great Horton 10-1 in Division 3A.
There was a brace each for Joe Sanderson, Josh Jalal and Andy Corker, plus strikes from Gareth Taylor, Chris Lee, Chris Robson and Vinnie Walker in the convincing victory.
The only scheduled Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup tie got the go-ahead from the referee, and Division One team Allerton hosted holders Buttershaw White Star.
After a goalless first half, two goals in a minute from Adam Barlow put a below full-strength White Star as the holders progressed to the quarter-finals, where they will visit Mill Lane.
Mark Betts added a third with a right-footed long-range shot that left the home keeper with no chance.
