There was controversy and drama in equal amounts at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium as Eccleshill United secured a draw in a ten-against-ten game with a last-gasp equaliser.
Division One visitors AFC Emley were reduced in numbers after just ten minutes when defender Jack Steers was very late with a challenge on Charlie Flaherty.
The Eagles didn’t have a man advantage for long as Daniel Halowaty was soon dismissed for retaliation following another heavy tackle.
But the home side did grab a first-half lead through Aaron Sanchez.
Flaherty hit the post twice and was denied a goal after the ball appeared to have crossed the line. However, Emley turned the game just after the hour mark with two goals in as many minutes from Sylbert Stewart and Ryan Pleasants.
The Eagles battled away and, in the last action of the game, Taylor Diem headed in a dramatic equaliser.
