Mark Bower is hoping Nethermoor will be packed on Saturday, even if it means his club’s supporters are outnumbered.
Guiseley’s 15-game unbeaten run came to an end last Saturday when they lost 3-0 at Aldershot in the FA Trophy but they are still pushing for the play-offs in the Conference North and host fallen giants Stockport County.
Bower’s men are not even halfway through their league fixtures but are handily placed in tenth with up to four games in hand on rivals.
Former Football League outfit County are six places lower but Bower said: “Stockport are on a good run recently and picked up a lot of points over Christmas.
“It should be a good game with a great atmosphere because of the fans they will bring. It ought to be the kind of game that you don’t need any motivation for.
“Most people will have expected them to be up there setting the pace. They are a bit low in the table at the moment but they will climb.
“They have taken some time to settle but they know the division now and are playing well.
“I know because we’ve been to see them a couple of times recently.”
The Lions boss has also been watching potential new signings and was working late into the week to get some on board. If they don’t arrive in time for the Stockport game, Bower still has selection problems of the right kind.
He said: “There were no new injuries from the Aldershot game and we had the Dannys, Forrest and Hall, back.
“They suffered no ill-effects and Danny Ellis is continuing his progress and could be in contention for a place on the bench.
“We’ve been looking for two or three new faces and we might have them in by Saturday but if not then soon after.
“We have midweek games for almost six weeks on the trot now, so we will get stretched and need a couple of bodies in.
“We won’t sign players for the sake of it.
“They will have to be quality players to come and join us here.”
Meanwhile, Guiseley have confirmed that striker Phil Marsh has signed for Barrow on a one-month loan deal.
