Bradford City will have their fingers crossed to beat the ongoing bad weather and get their Women’s FA Cup tie at home to Blackpool Wren Rovers out of the way on Sunday.
City’s home ground at Thackley was unfit for last week’s FA Premier League game against Blackburn Rovers and it would cause serious disruption if the FA Cup game goes the same way.
FA Cup matches must be staged the following week if they are postponed and this means holding back other scheduled fixtures, including next week’s County Cup quarter-final against Leeds City Vixens.
Other ties affecting the region are Huddersfield Town v Coventry City and Leeds United at Loughborough Students.
In the FA Premier League Reserve Division, leaders Bradford City return to action at Leeds United and will be hoping to succeed where the first team failed against their arch rivals.
Huddersfield Town are at home to City’s title rivals Nottingham Forest.
Guiseley go to Sheffield Wednesday in the North East Regional League Cup and, in the same competition, title-chasing Division One club Brighouse Town are at home to Premier side Hull City.
There were few new year celebrations for Ossett’s women’s teams as both Albion and Town crashed to heavy defeats.
Albion gave a good account of themselves in the first half of their North East Regional League game at home to Doncaster Belles but the longer it went on the deeper they sank into the mire.
Mistakes at both ends ultimately sealed their fate as the visitors ran out 8-0 winners.
Ossett Town’s season is going from bad to worse in the West Riding League. Already bottom of the Premier Division, with a minus 54 goal difference, they slumped to an 11-0 defeat at Brayton Belles and now have only one point from nine games and are six points from safety.
Bradford Park Avenue are next in line for Brayton but they are in good spirits after beating district rivals Silsden 3-1 with goals from Sophie Mitchell and substitute Sarah Huby (2).
Premier Division leaders Farsley have a top-of-the-table clash at Harrogate Railway and fast-climbing Keighley Oaks, up to third place, face a visit from unbeaten Brighouse Sporting.
Bradford City A return to action in Division Three with a game at home to bottom club Deighton.
