Thackley bounced back from Wednesday’s mauling at second-placed Barton Town with a 2-2 draw at home to table-topping Tadcaster Albion in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division.
The Dennyboys took a sixth-minute lead through Chris Davey but Taddy were level midway through the first half after Damian Hopkins put through his own net.
A Carl Stewart strike put the visitors in front but James Firth levelled late on, despite Thackley being reduced to ten men when Matt Morgan was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Brighouse Town jumped to fifth from eighth after a 3-1 win at Pickering.
Joe Jagger put Brighouse in front in the first half and goals soon after the break from Ernest Boafo and Tom Matthews made the game safe. The hosts nicked a consolation when Jimmy Beadle netted three minutes from time but Pickering also finished with ten men after Nathan Cook was handed two yellows.
Albion Sports were aiming to improve their own position but lost ground on their promotion rivals with a surprise 3-1 defeat at Parkgate.
The home side led at the break after George Morley’s 39th-minute strike but Adam Jones squared things up in the first minute of the second half.
Goals from Simon Mirfin and Adam Houghton wrapped up the win for the home side.
Liversedge were in action for the first time this month but suffered a heavy home defeat, going down 4-0 to Garforth Town – Connor Bower, Andy Hawksworth, Curtly Martin-Wyatt and Josh Greenhalgh with the goals.
Eccleshill came from two goals down to win 4-2 at Clipstone Welfare in Division One.
Liam Pride had giving Clipstone a first-minute lead and Robert Paling added a second in the 37th minute.
The comeback started ether side of the break with Ishmeal Mills and Adam McCabe on target. A Ryan Jones goal saw the Eagles in the ascendancy and Daniel Halowaty added the fourth in the final minute.
