Eccleshill United were due to play a home fixture in Northern Counties East League Division One but after one of their floodlight pylons was damaged by last Thursday’s storm they had to switch their game against Selby Town on Saturday to Liversedge’s Clayborn.
The plan unravelled when the Clayborn pitch failed a 1pm inspection.
Brighouse Town were also thwarted by a waterlogged pitch. They were due to host north-east outfit Whickham in the third round of the FA Vase.
Town’s visitors had made the journey by the time Saturday’s heavy rainfall left the pitch at the Dual Seal Stadium with standing water on it.
