Maine Road 1 Silsden 2
Struggling Silsden maintained their impressive record against Maine Road in the North West Counties Premier Division with yet another victory over them.
The Cobbydalers were a lowly 18th going into the game against the second-placed Manchester club.
The high-fliers broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half when Cobbydalers keeper Ed Hall failed to hold onto a shot. He parried the ball out to Tom Bentham, who put it back into the danger zone and home skipper Neil Chappell netted.
However, the Mancunians were in front for just under seven minutes as Danny Gleave converted a curling Andy Hill free-kick with a well-placed header.
The winner came 14 minutes from time when substitute Dale Feather picked up a Matt Moses pass and raced 40 yards with the ball before firing past home keeper Greg Hall.
Cobbydalers club secretary Jim Rosser said: “They will be fed up with us because that was our sixth win there in our last eight visits.
“We did the double over them last season and the season before, although they did beat us at Silsden earlier this season.”
