Albion Sports will be looking to make the most of neighbours Brighouse Town being in FA Vase action on Saturday.
Albion are below Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division table on goal difference only, so would leapfrog them with as much as a draw.
But as Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are facing a trip to rock-bottom Nostell MW, they would hope for more than just one point. Nostell have gained just five points from 24 starts to date and have a minus 62 goal difference.
The home side may be low on confidence but Albion are experiencing a wobble as they are on the back of three consecutive defeats. After a glut of goals, they have found the back of the net just twice in that last trio of games.
Eccleshill United face a much sterner test in Division One as fifth place hosts sixth.
The Eagles will be brimming with confidence after a 3-1 home win over Brighouse in the quarter-finals of the West Riding County Cup last night. But it will be difficult against this weekend’s opponents Selby Town, who are only below them on goal difference.
Both clubs are eight points adrift of the top two, which are the promotion places as there are no play-offs, having played the same number of games at this stage.
