Farsley will be in buoyant mood for their Evo-Stik League roses clash at home to Division One North promotion rivals Clitheroe on Saturday.

Neil Parley’s men have won their last three league fixtures, progressed in the League Cup in midweek and were awarded the fair play club of the month award for their division the day after.

The in-form villagers are fourth, just a point off second spot as a host of clubs look to consolidate their places ahead of the busy Christmas and New Year programme.

Clitheroe are a respectable seventh but the Lancashire outfit have played two games more than Farsley and have already lost twice as many.

Parsley has his men well prepared for the challenge and in a determined frame of mind to extend their four-match winning streak.

The boss was keen not to make too many changes for Monday’s cup second-round win over Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Parsley said: “We had one change because of work commitments but Matty Dempsey will be back in contention for the weekend.

“We want to keep the run and the momentum going. It’s very important to get on a run, so why make changes?

“As long as there are no injuries or suspensions, we try to keep the same side, keep the squad confident and set new targets for them.”
