Eccleshill United booked themselves a West Riding County Cup semi-final against Conference North neighbours Guiseley with a 3-1 win over Brighouse Town last night.
The Eagles finished with ten men after Marcus Edwards was sent off midway through the second half but they increased their lead in stoppage time. Joe Thornton had given higher-ranking Town a ninth-minute lead but Danny Halowaty levelled.
Edwards put the Eagles in front for the first time in the 20th minute.
They held that advantage as they went into the break but the visitors spurned a golden opportunity to equalise when Tom Matthews missed a penalty two minutes into the second half.
Edwards got his marching orders, for the second game running, for violent conduct but Gil Hong added the Eagles’ third.
