James Hanson has signed a new long-term contract with Bradford City.
The deal, which will make him one of the highest earners at the club, will tie down the targetman to Valley Parade until July 2017.
The news will come as a massive boost to fans, who were growing concerned that the local lad's present contract was up in the summer.
Hanson has been in a rich vein of form this season, carrying on from where he left off after playing a major role in City's promotion in May.
His partnership with Nahki Wells is one of the most potent in League One and his aerial ability is a key component in City's play.
The £7,500 snip from Guiseley has scored six goals so far this term with four assists.
Phil Parkinson said: "I'm very pleased. James is a player who has improved a lot and that will hopefully continue.
"He's the type of player who wants to be the best he can. Signing him (to a new contract) is a real statement of intent."
