The West Riding County Amateur League's representative team are competing in the second round of the FA Inter-League Cup on Saturday.
After twice travelling to Suffolk, defeating the Suffolk & Ipswich League 3-2 in the preliminary round and the Essex & Suffolk Border League 2-1 in the first round, they take the short trip along the M62 to play the Manchester League at Northern Premier Division ground Ashton United (3.00).
At stake is a place in the quarter-finals, with the eventual winners being invited to represent England in the UEFA Regions Cup next summer.
Among the local teams with players selected to represent the league are Campion’s Steve Hollingsworth and Omar Habeeb, Tyersal’s Glynne Beale and Fabian Evans and Steeton’s Michael Rhodes.
With both Campion and Tyersal having at least two players selected for the representative side, they have not been scheduled a game, but Steeton can improve their place in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division by taking three points off visitors Halifax Irish (2pm).
Second-placed Littletown could displace Ovenden West Riding at the top if they take the points off third-placed Kirkburton, who visit Beck Lane, while Salts are at Golcar United.
Hunsworth, who lead the way in Division One, will be looking to extend their successive league wins to 11 when they host West Horton at East Bierley.
Second-placed Ventus Yeadon Celtic face a tough task against Campion’s reserve side, who have yet to be beaten at home, while Wibsey will hoping for a hat-trick of league wins when Steeton Reserves are their opponents at Westwood Park.
