Littletown’s run of eight successive West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division victories came to a shuddering halt on Saturday against visitors Campion.
Their form had seen them climb to second place in the table but two first-half goals from Liam Charles ruined their chances of hitting the summit, with leaders Ovenden West Riding’s game at Salts postponed due to a frozen goalmouth.
Kirkburton moved into third place after goals by Ryan Jagger, James Meadows, Jack Greene and Mathew Sykes gave them a 4-0 victory at Tyersal.
Steeton took three points from their visit to Huddersfield YMCA, with Lee Reilly and Andy King netting in a 2-0 success.
The clash at the foot of the table saw Halifax Irish move up two places with a 3-1 home victory over basement team Hall Green United, a defeat that leaves the Wakefield club with only one point as they near the halfway point of the season.
Hunsworth extended their perfect run of Division One victories to ten games. Andy Wood, Dale Wright, Lee Brook and Daniel Walding scored in their 4-0 win at Tingley Athletic to take Hunsworth’s goal tally in league games to 51 – the top scorers in all three divisions.
Ventus Yeadon Celtic remain in second place after sharing eight goals with bottom-placed Overthorpe. Sean Jack, Ben Leeming, Nat Dacres and Billy Swiatek netted for Ventus, with Nicky Croisdale, Elliott Brooks, Jack Allerton and Ashley Hill on target for Overthorpe.
Wibsey continued their climb up the table with a 2-1 home win over promotion hopefuls Lower Hopton, with Daniel O’Donnell and Chris Mortimer on target.
Paul Noble netted twice from the penalty spot for Campion Reserves in their 3-1 home win over Westbrook YMCA.
Steeton Reserves also won 3-1, with Martin Bland scoring two and Craig Gregory on target against Bay Athletic Reserves. Salts Reserves picked up only their second win of the season when Richard Mason and Dominic Lazenby scored in a 2-1 win at Storthes Hall Reserves.
Dudley Hill Rangers bowed out of the Division Two Cup when they lost 3-2 at home to Thornes FC in round one. Roman Zurek and Dominic Staunton netted for Rangers while Lee Payne, with two, and Sam Long were on target to take the visitors into the next round.
Bradford FC slipped to their eighth Division Two defeat when one of the fancied sides for promotion, DRAM Community FC, beat them 6-3, with Azir Gulzar, Hedar Khuddamee and Ben O’Neal netting for Bradford.
Tyersal Reserves notched up five goals without reply at Lower Hopton Reserves. Ateek Hussain with a double, Jordan Haggard, Dave Scott and Alan Morley senior scored the goals.
