Albion Sports went goal crazy as they fired eight past Armthorpe Welfare to climb up to fourth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Kulwinder Sandhu’s men recently beat Winterton 4-0, put five past neighbours Liversedge in a nine-goal thriller and spanked Lincoln Moorlands with six of the best but they excelled themselves with four in each half as they racked up an eight-timer against their Doncaster visitors.
Danny Facey set Albion on their way with a brace before Armthorpe’s John Tunney turned in an own goal. Albion keeper Aaron Brian saved a penalty at 3-0 and Alex Cusack added a fourth just before the break.
Lee McGowan kicked off the scoring after the break when he headed home and Danny Facey completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after being brought down in the area.
His brother Delroy did the rest of the damage. The former Huddersfield Town striker came on as a second-half substitute and bagged a brace before Armthorpe hit a consolation in the penultimate minute.
The goal-rush took Albion above neighbours Brighouse Town, who dropped from third to fifth on goal difference after being held to a 2-2 home draw by ten-man Staveley MW.
Town’s game was still goalless when Staveley’s Pat Lindley was sent off for a second yellow-card offence. The home side soon took advantage and Ryan Hall broke the deadlock in the 67th minute.
When Matty Waller made it 2-0 with just 14 minutes remaining Town looked on course for another win but Ryan Damms netted from the penalty spot late on to halve the deficit and two minutes later Reece Littlejohn snatched Staveley’s equaliser.
Liversedge earned an expected but much-needed three points with a 2-0 win at struggling Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
A goal in each half was enough for Sedge – Gibril Bojang before the break and Billy Grogan 12 minutes from time – but they ended with ten men. Brook Newton was dismissed in the 67th minute. His second yellow card was for simulation after he took a tumble in the area.
Eccleshill United also picked up three points as they won at Hall Road Rangers in Division One with a goal from Jackson Patillo.
