Stephen Darby is confident that City’s next win is just around the corner.
The Bantams last celebrated three points at Walsall on October 5. Sunday’s thrilling draw with Coventry on Sky was their seventh game since without a victory.
That run has seen them slip out of the top six as well as fall at the first hurdle in the FA Cup.
But Darby insists the indifferent results do not tell the story – and he believes the Bantams can use last week’s stirring televised fightback as the platform for that elusive triumph.
The defender said: “It’s obviously not ideal to go a while without winning but you can see that the performances are there.
“Apart from the cup tie at Rotherham, we’ve played well in pretty much every game.
“I think we were unlucky not to take something from Wolves. That was a great performance.
“Look at Crewe away, we were solid and got a good clean sheet. We just couldn’t turn it into the three points.
“You can see the hard work is there.
“The lads are giving it everything on the training ground and will keep going to the end – and we got our rewards for that with the comeback against Coventry.”
City were indebted to the deadly finishing of Nahki Wells for snatching a 3-3 draw in a wide-open contest where they twice trailed.
Right back Darby added: “From a defensive point of view, we conceded three sloppy goals. That’s something we’ve got to put right.
“It certainly wasn’t the start we were looking for. We were on the back foot straight away and to go 2-0 down inside the first ten minutes was the last thing we wanted.
“But we showed great character to get back in the game at 2-2. Then we switched off a little bit and got caught on the counter-attack.
“But again we kept pushing and played some good stuff and we knew we always have a chance when our fans really get behind us.
“Nahki showed some great bottle to put that penalty away at the end. He had to step up there with all the pressure but you couldn’t see him missing.
“The front pair work so hard together and you know they are a handful for everyone. (James) Hanson put himself about and won every header.”
MK Dons have lost only once at home this season and will present another sturdy test as City look to regain their spot among the early play-off contenders.
Darby said: “It’s another tough game for us but we expect that in this division.
“You’ve got to be on it every week or you’ll get punished.
“But we’re coming off a good performance and we certainly passed a great test of character.
“It’s always important to bounce back after a bad result and I felt we did that after losing to Rotherham.
“There was no better game to do that than against the in-form team in the league and in front of the Sky cameras.
“We started badly but were then prepared to stand up and be counted.
“It was a good point in the end and we’ll look to build on that against MK Dons tomorrow.”
