Farsley face their toughest test of the season on Saturday as they travel to fellow Evo-Stik League Division One North title hopefuls Curzon Ashton.
The Manchester outfit are one of only three teams in the top eight divisions of English football not to have lost in the league this season and Farsley boss Neil Parsley is well aware of the challenge his third-placed side face.
Parsley went to watch Curzon’s match against struggling Radcliffe Borough earlier this week as they ran out 2-1 winners and was impressed with what he saw.
“I watched them on Monday and their results are backed up by how they play,” he said.
“They’re a young, workman-like side and we’re expecting a tough match but we’re relishing the challenge.
“I think the best results we’ve got from playing them six times over the last two seasons are a couple of draws, so they have been a bit of a bogey side.”
Farsley go into the game following a shock defeat to Eccleshill United after the Northern Counties East League Division One side knocked them out of the West Riding County Cup.
Left back Ryan Serrant limped off the pitch during that defeat and he joins striker Aiden Savory as an injury doubt ahead of the Curzon game.
Parsley said: “Ryan had to be substituted on Wednesday due to a groin strain and he’s a slight concern for Saturday’s match.
“Aiden is still recovering from a hamstring strain and I’d rate his chances at no better than 50/50.”
