Andrew Davies column
So it’s the FA Cup this weekend and a trip to our old rivals Rotherham.
There is no hiding the fact they are a very strong team and our recent results against them aren’t the best, if we are being honest.
That’s not just down to Steve Evans; it’s because Rotherham are a good team. Saturday will be no different and I think it will be another really hard game.
I’m sure we will be taking a lot of fans, which will help the boys massively, and it promises to be an exciting occasion. Rotherham have got some players who are a real handful but fingers crossed we can get the win.
We will go there on the back of a very solid away performance at Crewe last week. I’ve read the reports in the paper and it sounds like the lads really dug in well for a hard-earned point.
Rory McArdle led by example and congratulations to him being named in the Northern Ireland squad this week. Matthew Bates has now come into our squad and is showing what he is capable of.
On a personal note, I’ll be at every home game when I get off the crutches. I’m pretty much down to using just one crutch now and I’ll be back at Valley Parade to support the boys.
The club means a lot to me and the team getting results is really important. I’ve been following the T&A live blog during the games for the minute-by-minute updates and my family do that too when I’m playing.
I’ve been sat on the sofa constantly updating the blog and I just want the lads to do well because I know how hard they have worked to get into this division.
That’s the entire club – the players, the gaffer and his team, plus all the rest of the staff at Valley Parade.
When the lads win, my week is a lot better, believe you me. When we are working together and doing the little things right, I honestly believe we can beat anyone.
The gaffer has got the right people in at the club and everyone is pulling in the same direction. Long may it continue.
