Eccleshill United 4, Farsley 2
Eccleshill United were giant killers in the West Riding County Cup tonight when they sent Evo-Stik Division One North outfit Farsley packing.
The Eagles play their football three divisions below Farsley but a Marcus Edwards hat-trick booked their passage into the quarter-finals.
Edwards opened the scoring and added a second with a terrific strike but Neil Parsley’s men came back before the break with a brace from Adam Priestley.
The second half was a tough contest but the home side were rewarded for their positivity when Edwards netted twice in the last ten minutes.
Silsden lost the big North West Counties League Premier Division roses derby 3-1 at Colne.
Both sides finished with ten men after an incident late in the first half that saw the home side’s James Crorken and the Cobbydalers’ Kristian Hargreaves dismissed.
Michael Berry had put Colne in the lead before then and Mike Saunders doubled their lead just before the interval.
Berry grabbed his second just before the hour mark and, though Mikey Hall scored minutes later, it turned out to be nothing other than a consolation for the Cobbydalers.
