Scott Driscoll’s hat-trick proved the difference as Calverley United won 4-1 at fellow Senior B division strugglers St Bedes in the Yorkshire Amateur League.

Neither side had won going into the contest but Calverley, with only 13 players available, broke their duck in style as Driscoll’s treble was backed up by the impressive Rory Lewis. Dale Fawcett replied as St Bedes remain at the foot of the table.

Farnley Sports maintained their push towards the summit with a 6-1 romp at second-bottom Collingham Juniors, with Lee Ranson and Danny Sharp both netting at the double.

Senior A section leaders Grangefield impressed again with a 4-1 home win against Leeds Medics & Dentists, who lost for the first time. Grant Jackson, Andy Kenyon, Tom Pickup and new signing Ritchie Banks were on target.

Old Modernians went one better by seeing off second-bottom Old Batelians 5-1 as Declan Keaney supplied a hat-trick.

St Bedes Reserves slumped to a 6-0 home defeat to mid-table Woodkirk Valley to remain second from bottom in Division Two.

And Calverley United Reserves were thumped 5-0 at home by Almondburians Reserves in Division Three, while Heckmondwike GSOB lost 3-1 as visiting Old Batelians Reserves moved top thanks to a Jamie Smith double.

West Riding County FA Challenge Cup action saw Brighouse knock out Farsley Celtic Juniors 3-0.
